Where can you find these jobs? what are some companies that employ stock research analysts?

You will need to pass the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) exam before you anyone will look at you. These jobs are found at investment institutions which manage stock portfolios for large customers. To get some idea of which companies employ analysts, you can go to Yahoo Finance and look up particular stocks to identify who is covering it and what firm they work for. It's an awesome career, I've considered working in this area several times.
