We (Quicken Loans) are nearing our one millionth closed loan and we'd love to know what people would do with the extra money they'd have each month if their mortgage was suddenly paid off. Go on vacation? Put the money into savings or a CD? Save for the kids' college fund? What would you do with the extra cash?

If there is nothing on your to do list. It is best to just save it for something important.

The smart thing to do would be to stash it away. That's what I would do anyway.
