With all of the recent press should we trust a mortgage broker?

No, anyone whose job involves care of your finances is to be treated with utmost suspicion. They are charlatans each and every one of them.

If you believed half of what you read in the press, you wouldn't even trust yourself. Mortgage broking is a regulated activity. If they stitch you up, there's a multi-million pound compensation fund you can claim on. Unfortunately, there's no such compensation scheme for the press.

There are a lot of trusted ones.try and get much information on any of them before you carry out any plan.

A mortgage broker gets commission from the mortgage company's and banks he will of course try to sell you one that pays him the most interest always best to shop around yourself and avoid them
