First save up 4-6 months expenses in a Money Market Account for emergencies. Then after you save up another $1000, open an account at Fidelity Investments, and start investing automatically in 3-4 mutual funds. Diversify, diversify, diversify. You can build good wealth over the long haul by steady purchasing of mutual fund shares month after month, and using no-load mutual funds.

Invest in a good growth stock mutual fund with a least 10 year record.

Money Mon..... answer is good, except I would invest in Fidelities Balanced Fund instead of 3 or 4 funds as it gives diversification and has good returns over the years. You also need to ask a Fidelity rep. aboput IRA's and 401K plans and talk about your age and risk tolerance.

Invest into small-cap stocks (not penny shares thats gambling!), but stocks in companies that are just starting to rapidly grow in business. These kind of stocks outperform blue-chips by as much as several hundred percent a year in some instances. Look into it. Anyway, good luck and hope this helps!
