Question: Where can i invest/deposit £8000 for maximum gains?

Anybody has any experience in saving in fixed bonds? Thanks for all the suggestions Thanks for funny comments. no I am not investing on any people. No thanks 2 - 3 yrs I dont want to lose what I invest. Open for everything other than that.

Lots of money has been flowing into the bond market because people are afraid of the equity market. At the moment I am a contrarian and like equities as I suspect that the tide will shift. You say maximum gains but did not specify what your risk tolerance is and time horizon.
