I need to use a 1040 for my financial aid. but i didnt get one. i filed my taxes on tax act with a w- 2. please help!!

You can access your TaxAct prepared return via the link below. Or you can obtain a transcript or copy from the IRS at irs.gov/ taxtopics/ tc156.html?portlet= 1

Did TaxAct not advise you to print a copy (I say 3) for yourself before hitting the send button? Should still be available if you remember your sign on, as per my past interactions with TaxAct Maybe your situation only caused them to file a 140A, or 1040EZ, which will have the info F A wants. (i e those are just shorter versions of the 1040, in case that was confusing you.)

Form 1040 is what Tax Act generates and sends to the IRS. Go back into Tax Act and make a printout of it. Financial Aid wants what Tax Act sent the IRS, not what you were given by your employer.

If you printed a copy of your return from tax-act, and you should have, look at what you printed. The main form will say 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ - that's what FAFSA wants.
