Do i have to write my financial aid out in my taxes?
I know its not for like another 5 months or 6 months till its tax time but I wanted to get the question answered now so i know ahead of time. i'm recieving Financial aid from my college a quarterly check of $1338, from the pell grant i believe it was, I get tuition assitance which i was told adds $1338 to my account applying a $1338 credit on my account and a few weeks after processing a check gets mailed to in the total of $1338. Is this taxed previously before mailing to me or will i have to take the extra steps in adding it into my taxes as taxable income at the end of the year? ontop of this I also get my MGIB SR the GI bill.. for selective reserve in the amount of $149 a month, is this taxable? Is this taxed already? or do i have to write it all off at the end of the year?thanks for all tips I just don't want to end up oweing a butt load of money and not have it because i wasn't prepared. what are the tax rates again? if it is taxable like what percentage a month should i take out of it to set aside making sure i have enough to pay my taxes if needed... i live in Stockton California just so you know...

How can i get personal financial aid?
The financial aid i am looking for is not for me, but for my girlfriend. She works hard but only brings in about 20k a year. She's worked for the same company for the past 8 years but has hit a rough patch financially. Are there any government aids, or maybe welfare that would help. Im helping pay for her gas to give her a break but we need to find a better way without taking a loan out. Again she does work and if it means anything for any type of grant or etc she's 28yrs old. Thank you for any help...

Question about a financial aid refund and a NEW JERSEY state return?
I used TurboTax trademark to file my tax return federally this year. I attended college and received a partial refund from an overabundance of Pell Grant money. However, on my state return, it says I need the " grantor name" and the " ID number" when I'm on Turbotax. I don't know what either of these are or where to find them. Scouring NJ taxation website was of no avail.Thoughts? Please?
Question for the people who live in alberta canada ,if a person gets financial aid like subsidised rent ,funde?
question for the people who live in alberta canada ,if a person gets financial aid like a subsidised rent ,funded studies EI child benefit tax as he lies in the low income category etc and while on filing the income tax return his income exceeds i mean he has to pay rather getting a refund so does this mean that from the coming next year he has no right to have the child benefit taxes and rent subsidy again....whats confusing for me is as i am new to this country that actually my husband got a funded course all suppoerted by the govt he was on EI too and then i got pregnant,i was on EI so now when we filed our tax return it is like we have to pay $2000 to the govt,i am still not working and my EI has ended n so is my husbands but ,he is still a part time worker plus he is completing his studies paying himself ,and we have got two kids so with such kind of situation will everything like the subsidised rent and children tax will end up if yes then why?beacause we didnot earn that income it was all paid by govt so why we should be cut out for the benefits even we are still eligible for them?please do answer thankyou in advance...
Is the paid preparer's signature good enough on a copy of a tax return forl, asked by the financial aid?
My college is asking to fill out a verification sheet and it's asking me to attach a copy of a signed tax return of my parents. I found a copy but it only has the signature of the paid preparer. Will that be okay?
Student Financial Aid/Loans/Grants Taxes Questions?
I'm a dependent student in college. Currently unemployed. I received a total of $10,600 in financial aid this year. $6100 from grants which all went towards books and academic course payments. $3500 is from a subsidized student loan 1000 is from a success scholarship. As I previously stated I have no other sources of income. I received a notice today that I was supposed to file taxes and I had no idea. I'm 19 and in my first year of college so I'm quite new to all of this. My questions are What form should I file 1040EZ 1040 1040A ? What goes where In other words what from the listed amounts above is taxable tax exempt I apologize if my phrasing is incorrect. Thank you for any help that you maybe able to provide and I apologize for my lack of knowledge.Thats the thing...I had no actual income. According to the little bit that I understood from the website, the only thing that could qualify as income is the $1,000 scholarship. I received a notice from my school saying that financial aid would be witheld until they receive mine and my parents tax information...
