In this economy, wouldn't it be a good idea to have your home personally appraised before selling?
I would be more than happy to pay for this, on my own, so I'd know ahead of time what to expect in this market, and what to ask for it before putting it on the market. Just doing homework. So far, the realtors have asked me what I think it's worth, so , no. I think I would feel better if I had it professionally appraised, by an outsider, as it were.

Which economy is currently the best investment?
Given that the experts predict another US recession. The Euro is " on the brink" . Japan's prices are dropping. And all the other global economic problems. Which foreign market do you feel would be safest place to invest, also with the greatest return. Or do you feel it's better to invest locally in the US or Canada. And why. Thanks.I should add my reasoning to the question. I'm Canadian, if I bought US equities and suddenly the US dollar crashed and de valuated against ours I'd take a huge loss in the conversion. Another example, If I bought equities in say the Japanese market and our dollar crashed then the value of my investment would increase proportionally. I think that the US dollar will crash soon, leading to their dollar de valuating and dragging the Canadian dollar down with it. So I'd like to be invested in a more stable economy. Which one is the best in your opinion?
