Question: What are some great entrepreneur books to read to help you start a business?
(Posted by: on 2010-03-12 12:38:27)
I'd like to start some businesses but need to learn the best way about doing it. Also if you can suggest anthing that covers ways to finance a company e.g. setting up a business account, how to set up a business partner and handling tax etc would be a bonus. Cheers |

There is a massive amount of books out there. Ummm, here, check out these books, they will put you on the right path. You Call the Shots: Cameron Johnson ***** 5 out of 5 Stars This book is about a kid who, by the age of 19, had started over a dozen profitable business's. Not to mention by the time he was 13 was already making six figures. Yeah, you read that correctly, SIX FIGURES by the time he was 13 years old. Not to mention his first business was selling Benie Babies that he bought off his 3 year old sister. Robert Kiyosaki: ***** 5 out of 5 Stars This book teaches you the true secrets of wealth management. Ever wonder what rich people do with all their money? How they invest it? How they protect it? This book alone has made the most millionaires in publishing history. I tell you what this is the book that started it all for me. Inc. and Grow Rich : ***** 5 out of 5 Stars This book will teach you how to Incorporate yourself. It will also point you in the right direction toward tax laws. I would never finance a company with my own money. The best way to start a business, is to start small. Let the business take care of itself. I'll put it to you this way. Ever wonder why the good gamblers make so much money. They may start out with a little bit of their own capital but, when they make that money back they take it out of the equation and just use the houses money. If they lose all the houses money, they quit till another day. That way they always break even. |

The first thing is choose a business. What do you want to open? Why? Because each type of business is different with different requirements. There are ALOT of books out there and honestly some of the stuff they tell you to do is "nice to do " stuff but not necessary. You can really start some businesses very simple and then grow into more. One place you can start is your Small Business Admnistration Office. They offer alot of free stuff. Just go to the business section of your local bookstore and flip through the books for free first. Again -- it's best to first find a specific business because they have specific books like "How to Start Your Own Seminar Business " or "How to Open Your Own Tax Service ".....etc. Every State is different when it comes to the types of licenses and taxes so once you discover the general things...then consult your local state or county for specifics. |

I would check out Entrepreneur entrepreneur.com/ Awesome website. Books can become outdated very quickly, its best to keep up to date with these sorts of things online. I am an entrepreneur myself and have found myself over the years using the internet and sites like these more than books. |
